HUPTI is the eighth proton facility in the country and the largest of its kind in the world. DSI designed and integrated multiple state-of-the-art communications, security and IT systems including data/voice cabling, integrated CCTV and card access, Alcatel VOIP phone, intercom and paging, an Alcatel-Lucent redundant data network, as well as a Dell redundant Equallogic Server Farm. DSI worked closely with the Owner, Architect, Engineer and the General Contractor during both the design and implementation phases of the construction process.
The Data/Voice infrastructure consists of approximately 1000 Cat 6 drops. These drops terminate in one of four IDFs throughout the building. Each of the IDFs is connected to the MDF by 16 strands of Laser Optimized 50 Micron Multimode Fiber. The Cat 6 drops are also utilized for the Aruba Wireless Network DSI installed in dedicated areas of the building. The entire system has a 25 year Panduit Pan/Gen Warranty.
The Data Network consists of (9) 48 Port Alcatel Lucent switches and a 6800 redundant core switch. The Core Switch has a dual 10-gig load balancing backbone to each of the IDFs. The system also includes an Equallogic redundant Server Farm.
The IP Phone System is an Alcatel Lucent OCX Enterprise IP Phone System consisting of 50 IP phone sets and over 150 voicemail boxes.
The GE Security Integrated Security System includes (25) 540 TVL indoor color cameras, (7) 26X zoom outdoor PTZ cameras, 31 access controlled doors and two SymDec 16+2 Hybrid DVRs. In addition all of the exterior doors are monitored by the system for intrusion. The entire security system is monitored and controlled by the GE Security Facility Commander Integrated Security Platform.
DSI also provides an on-site full time IT staff for ongoing sustainment and help desk support.
