DSI installed and integrated several systems including Video Surveillance, Access Control, Intrusion Detection, Overhead Paging, Wired and Wireless Microphones as well as a Background Music System.
The Security System consists of three fully integrated systems including door contacts, passive infrared sensors, duress alarm buttons, dual technology card readers, PTZ and fixed CCTV cameras, as well as Hybrid Digital Video Recorders. All three systems are integrated on a single GE user interface. There are a total of 54 cameras and 48 doors with an integrated Card Access and Intrusion system. The system also includes two monitoring stations. The main station is located on the terminal level and the second remote monitoring station is located in the Nauticus building’s Security Office.
A separate Intrusion and Video Surveillance System was installed for Homeland Security and includes four vandal proof cameras with integrated audio installed in the secure holding cells located at the facility. This system has its own monitoring station in the US Customs Office and is completely separate from the main integrated security system.
The Paging and Background Music System covers the entire facility including the front entrance and cruise ship docking area. The terminal area has a separate full range sound system utilized for special events and includes wired and wireless microphone systems.
